Board committee (advises the Board)

The volunteers who keep an eye on Palm Hill's money: the monthly numbers, the yearly budget and the savings set aside for big repairs.

What it does

  • Reviews the monthly financial reports from the management company and recommends them to the Board.
  • Drafts the yearly budget, including any change in the monthly fee.
  • Tracks the reserve and savings accounts that pay for big projects.
  • Works with the auditor on the year-end audit.
  • Reviews contracts and policies when the Board asks.

Its role at Palm Hill

An advisory committee appointed by the HOPH Board each year. It studies and recommends; the Board decides. The Board Treasurer sits on it as Board liaison and reports for it at each Board meeting.

How it can help you

  • Budget Town Hall: each January the committee answers questions on next year's budget before it goes to the Board.
  • Fact sheets on the budget and share price: HOPH Information, Shareholder Education Corner.
  • Your own monthly fee, coupons or auto-pay: ask the Park Office.
  • A question or idea: email the committee.

When it meets

Monthly, usually the second-to-last Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., South Clubhouse Board Room and Zoom, all year. Any resident may attend. To speak on an agenda item, file a request to speak before the meeting (3 minutes). Shareholder input also closes each agenda. Minutes and videos are on the Committees of Palm Hill page.
