Compliance and Fining Committee

← How Palm Hill Works

Committee appointed by the Board (holds fine hearings)

A panel of residents that holds the hearing before any fine, or any loss of the use of the park's facilities, for a rule violation can take effect.

What it does

  • Holds a hearing for each resident who gets a final violation notice with a fine or suspension.
  • Hears the resident, who may explain, bring evidence, and answer what the Park Office presents.
  • Votes, by majority, to confirm or reject the fine or the suspension.
  • Decides only that; it does not write rules, find violations or set fine amounts.

Its role at Palm Hill

Florida law and Palm Hill's Rules and Regulations require this committee (FS 719.303; Rule XVIII). The Board appoints it, but it decides on its own: a fine or suspension it rejects cannot be imposed.

How it can help you

  • Got a violation notice? Fix it and tell the Park Office; daily fines stop once the Office inspects.
  • A final notice carries a fine of $100 a day, up to $1,000, and gives the hearing date, time and place, at least 14 days ahead. Come and tell your side.
  • To report a violation, use the form on the website or at the Park Office. Reports go to the Park Manager.

When it meets

It meets when there are cases waiting for a hearing, not on a fixed schedule. The final notice gives the date, time and place. Three members hear each case; an alternate sits in when one cannot. No minutes or recordings are posted on the Committees page.
