Board committee (advises the Board)

The volunteers who run Palm Hill's own news channels: the club website, the weekly e-newsletter and email notices, the LINK, the Community Channel and Facebook, and who advise the Board on how Palm Hill communicates.

What it does

  • Keeps the club website up to date, including the events calendar and the notices and announcements.
  • Sends the weekly e-newsletter and the email notices of meetings and events.
  • Works with the LINK editor on Palm Hill's monthly magazine.
  • Runs the Palm Hill Community Channel on Spectrum: the announcement slides and the meeting recordings.
  • Records Board and committee meetings on Zoom and posts the videos.
  • Runs the Palm Hill Facebook Page and the residents-only Facebook Group, and recommends communication policies to the Board.

Its role at Palm Hill

An advisory committee appointed by the HOPH Board each year. It looks after the channels and recommends policies; the Board decides. Official notices about meetings, elections and park business are approved by a Board officer, the Park Manager, or a committee chair for that chair's own committee. Statements for HOPH come from the Board, the Executive Committee or the President. A Board member serves as liaison.

How it can help you

  • Get the weekly e-newsletter and email notices: make sure the club website has your current email address; the office can help.
  • Put an event or announcement in the e-newsletter, the LINK or on the Community Channel: use Submit an announcement on the website's Events, Activities and Announcements page.
  • Book a room or put an activity on the calendar: Reserve a Venue / Publish an Activity on the club website (Members menu).
  • Something for the LINK: send it to the LINK editor by the monthly deadline printed in the LINK.
  • Join the residents' Facebook Group: search Facebook for Palm Hill Country Club - Residents Only Group and ask to join; each request is checked against the resident directory. Follow the Palm Hill Country Club Facebook Page too.
  • Watch the Palm Hill Community Channel on Spectrum; meeting videos are also on the Committees of Palm Hill page.
  • A question or idea: email the committee or come to a meeting.

When it meets

Monthly on a Monday at 10:00 a.m. (most months the second Monday), South Clubhouse Board Room, on Zoom and on the Community Channel. Any resident may attend, and each agenda ends with discussion from the floor. Meeting videos are on the Committees of Palm Hill page.
